Ben Schmidt highlights the anachronisms present in the 2012 film Argo in his article written earlier this year entitled "Argo Anachronisms." There are two very notable discrepancies in the movie. The movie was set in 1979 yet it makes reference to The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance which did not exist until 1984. Schmidt also mentions a Lifetime Achievement Award. According to sources, the award was bestowed beginning in the 1980's although there may have been an award in 1979 that went by a similar name. The anachronisms found in Argo aren't as bold as those in Julius Caesar but they both contain items or ideas that appeared out of their respective time periods.
